THE MATH
decimal = numerator ÷ denominator
percent = decimal × 100
Dividing the numerator by the denominator gives the decimal form.
Some fractions terminate (1/4 = 0.25); others repeat (1/3 = 0.333…).
The decimal is rounded to six places; repeating decimals are not shown with a bar.
The fraction is also reduced to lowest terms.
Multiply the decimal by 100 for the percent.
