Knitting Increase Calculator

YARN & KNITTING

Need to add stitches evenly across a row? Enter your current and target stitch counts and the calculator tells you how many increases to make and how to space them.

Increases needed
Spacing
Increases = target minus current. Spacing = current stitches divided by the number of increases.

How it works

To add stitches evenly, subtract your current count from the target to get the number of increases, then divide the current count by that number to find roughly how many stitches to work between each one. Distribute any remainder by adjusting a few intervals by one stitch.

Spread the remainder. The spacing rarely divides evenly. Place the extra stitches in the middle of the row rather than bunching them at one end.
