How the brunch drink calculator works

Brunch usually means mimosas and plenty of coffee. This tool scales sparkling wine and orange juice to the number of mimosas your guests will drink, and estimates coffee from how many of your guests drink it. It returns bottles of bubbly, liters of juice, coffee cups, and ground coffee so the bar and the coffee station are both covered.

The mimosa ratio

A classic mimosa is about half sparkling wine and half orange juice, served in a flute of roughly 120 ml. Some prefer it heavier on the bubbly, others lighter. A 750 ml bottle of sparkling wine makes about six standard mimosas, so plan bottles accordingly and chill them well, since a cold pour keeps the bubbles lively.

Coffee, juice, and non-alcoholic options

Coffee is the other brunch staple, so plan for roughly one and a half cups per coffee drinker across a relaxed brunch. Offer extra orange juice and sparkling water so guests can build virgin mimosas, and put out a pitcher of infused or plain water. Fresh squeezed juice is a treat, but good chilled bottled juice works fine for a crowd.

Bottomless brunch planning

For a bottomless style brunch, plan four to five drinks per guest over a couple of hours and buy extra bubbly, since usage climbs fast. Keep bottles on ice and pre-pour juice into pitchers for quick topping up. Pace the service and always have food and water flowing alongside so the brunch stays fun and comfortable.
