How decaf is made

Caffeine is drawn out of green beans before roasting, using water, carbon dioxide, or a solvent. The Swiss Water process is chemical-free and popular for specialty decaf. A small amount of caffeine always remains.

Not caffeine-free. Decaf still has a little caffeine, roughly 2 to 5 mg a cup versus 95 mg in regular. For strict avoidance, count those milligrams in your daily total.
