A panel schedule is the list that shows each circuit in an electrical panel, what it serves, the load it carries, and the size of its breaker. It lets electricians and inspectors see at a glance how the panel is loaded and helps with adding circuits safely later. The calculator totals the loads and checks them against the capacity of the panel.
In a three phase panel, the loads should be spread as evenly as possible among the phases, since an unbalanced panel overloads one phase and can cause neutral current and voltage problems. Continuous loads, such as lighting that runs for three hours or more, must be counted at 125 percent when sizing the breaker and the wiring.
Leave spare capacity for future needs and avoid loading a panel right up to its rating. Label every circuit clearly and update the schedule whenever the panel changes. The calculation is an aid and does not replace the electrical code or the judgment of a licensed electrician or engineer, who should verify any design.
