USE THIS FIXTURE IN
Specifying a fixture involves a series of choices, and each one affects the others. The family sets the form, such as a recessed downlight, a surface mount fixture, a track head, a wall sconce, or a linear luminaire. The size and aperture decide how much light it can put out and how it looks in the ceiling, and the optic sets the beam angle and how the light is spread.
The lumen package should match the room and the task, and the color temperature sets the mood, with warm tones around 2700 to 3000 kelvin for homes and neutral or cool tones for work areas. A color rendering index of 90 or higher shows colors more accurately, which matters in retail, kitchens, and galleries. The driver determines the dimming method, so check that it works with your controls, such as phase cut, 0 to 10 volt, or digital protocols.
Before you finalize a configuration, check the practical details. Make sure there is enough ceiling depth for a recessed fixture, that it has the rating needed for insulation contact or damp locations, and that the finish suits the room. Keep the order code from the builder so the fixture can be reordered or specified exactly.
