How the days between dates calculator works
Enter two dates and the tool counts the time between them and expresses it several ways at once: total days, weeks, approximate months, hours, minutes, and decimal years. It is the quick answer for countdowns, anniversaries, and any time you need the same span in different units.
The same span, many units
Total days is the exact calendar count. Weeks divide that by seven, months use the average month length, and years use 365.25 days to account for leap years. Hours and minutes multiply the day count out, which is useful for countdowns to a launch, deadline, or special occasion.
How it differs from a date difference
A date difference breaks a span into years, months, and days together, like an age. This tool instead gives each unit as its own running total, so you can say a span is 1,000 days, or roughly 33 months, or about 2.7 years, whichever framing fits.
Common uses
Count down to a wedding, holiday, or product launch, total up how long since a memorable date, or convert a span into hours for billing or planning. The dates can be in any order and leap years are handled automatically.
