How the age calculator works
Enter a date of birth and the tool works out the exact age as of today or any date you choose. It breaks the age into years, months, and days, and also gives the totals in months, weeks, and days. Because it counts real calendar dates, it accounts for leap years and the different lengths of months automatically.
Age in years, months, and days
The most natural way to express an age is in years, months, and days, the same way you would say someone is 34 years, 2 months, and 11 days old. The calculator subtracts the birth date from the target date, borrowing days and months where needed so the result is always a valid breakdown rather than a negative remainder.
Counting total days and weeks
Sometimes you want a single number instead, such as total days lived for a milestone, or total weeks for a pregnancy or a project. The tool gives the full count in days and weeks alongside the years figure. It also tells you which day of the week the date fell on, and how many days remain until the next birthday.
Common uses
People use an age calculator for forms and eligibility, for planning birthdays and anniversaries, for working out a pet age, or just out of curiosity about how many days they have been alive. Set the age at date field to a future or past date to see how old someone was, or will be, on any given day.
