Plan a pegboard for tool storage. Enter the wall space and hole spacing to get the pegboard size, hole count, and rough tool capacity.
Usage Tip
Mount pegboard on furring strips or a frame so the hooks have clearance behind the board. Trace each tool so you can see at a glance what is out of place.
Holes ≈ (width ÷ spacing) × (height ÷ spacing)
Tool capacity ≈ area ÷ about 36 sq in per tool
Tool capacity is a rough guide — big tools and bins take several holes, small hooks take one.
Standard 1/4-in pegboard suits most hand tools; use thicker tempered board or metal pegboard for heavy items.
Group tools by type and trace their outlines so everything has a home and you can see what is missing.
