Usage Tip

Lay sod the day it arrives and water it within the first half hour; sod on a pallet can overheat and die in a day or two.

THE MATH
sod area = lawn area × (1 + waste ÷ 100)
rolls = sod area ÷ 10, pallets = sod area ÷ 500
Sod is ordered by area with a small waste allowance for trimming. It comes in rolls of about 10 square feet or pallets of roughly 500 square feet.
Enter the lawn area and a waste percentage (5 percent suits a simple rectangle, more for curves).
The result gives rolls and pallets.
